An established company for nearly 8 decades with a highly regarded reputation for manufacturing high-end tooling for the pharmaceutical sector are looking for a Centreless Grinder to join their team.

Duties:

  • Good housekeeping and strict adherence to procedures/work instructions, particularly relating to accurate measurement will also be required for this role

  • At times working unsupervised and using your own initiative to solve problems

  • Meeting necessary targets on output and qualityReading and interpreting technical drawings

  • Working to very tight tolerances

  • Use of a variety of measuring equipment (micrometres, verniers and various gauges

Skills & Attributes

  • Previous centreless grinding experience, gained on both manual and CNC machines. With other types of grinding also being beneficial.

  • Previous experience of working in a subcontract machine shop would be ideal.

  • Experience using Cincinnati grinding machines

  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.

  • Good housekeeping skills and strict adherence to work procedures/instructions, particularly relating to accurate measurement.

  • Be able to use own initiative to solve problems and self-motivated to meet the necessary targets on output and quality.

  • Experience working with very tight tolerances.

  • Experience on a variety of measuring equipment (micrometres, verniers and various gauges).

Hours of Work:

  • 3 shift system AM/PM/Nights (39 hours per week)

  • The starting rate for this position is £11.14 p/h. On successful completion of the 3-month probationary period the hourly rate will increase to £11.73 p/h plus an average of 23% shift premium for this work pattern (18% for AM and PM shifts and 33% for night shift)
