Job Profile
As the successful Injection Mould Toolmaker, your primary function will be to carry out any work or duties delegated by the Technical Projects Manager or Toolroom Supervisor, to a high standard required of the business and on time.

Duties:

  • Manufacture new injection mould tools from technical drawings and 3D cad data to a high level of workmanship in an efficient and cost-effective manner

  • Fully hardened steel production tools

  • Repair, modify and maintain existing production tooling.

  • Operate all toolroom plant and machinery safely ensuring necessary protective clothing and equipment is always used

  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness in the toolroom

  • Suggest any possible improvements to tooling or processes, for assessment by Technical Projects Manager or Toolroom Supervisor

  • Log completed tool maintenance and repair work using the systems and databases provided

  • Ensure correct marking and labelling of tools

  • Be proactive in suggesting improvements in productivity and efficiency, part of the continual improvement program (CIP)

  • Good housekeeping (5S) – ensure that the factory and surrounding areas are kept tidy and within health and safety guidelines


Skills & Attributes:

  • Qualified plastic injection mould tool toolmaker

  • Apprentice trained toolmaker

  • CNC or Manual machining experience

  • Spark Eroding experience would be an advantage but not essential as training can be provided

  • Cad/Cam experience would be an advantage but not essential as training can be provided


Hours of Work:

  • 40hrs per week

  • 8:30am to 5pm, Monday

  • 8am to 5pm, Tuesday to Thursday

  • 8am to 3pm, Friday
